① If you tribute this face-up card for the Tribute Summon of a DARK monster: Special Summon 3 "Metabo Tokens" (Fiend-Type/DARK/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) in Defense Position.
These tokens cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon.
Edison Rulings:
● This mandatory effect activates only when this card is used for a Tribute Summon. Not when tributed in other ways (e.g. for a Ritual Summon or for "Destiny HERO - Plasma").
● If this card is face-down when tributed, this effect will not activate (this was reversed May 2011).
● If you tribute this card for the Tribute Set of a DARK monster, this effect will not activate.
● If this card is banished upon being tributed, this effect will still activate (e.g. while "Macro Cosmos" is applying).
● If your opponent takes control of this card you own and tributes it for a DARK monster, this effect will activate in your GY and you will summon the tokens to your field.
● While the tokens may not be tributed for a Tribute Summon, they may be tributed for other means (e.g. for a Ritual Summon or for the summon of "Destinty HERO - Plasma").
